Terms of service

Last updated: October 23, 2026

These terms apply to your use of ovid.love (the "Site") and to any purchase from OVID, operated by pensato, Tokyo, Japan ("OVID", "we", "us"). By using the Site or placing an order you agree to them.

1. Orders

An order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send a shipping confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order (for example if an item is out of stock, a price was clearly wrong, or we suspect fraud); if we have already charged you, we refund you in full.

2. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and include Japanese consumption tax where it applies. Import duties, taxes and customs fees charged by the destination country are not included unless checkout says otherwise, and are paid by the recipient. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners; we do not store your full card details.

3. Products

We describe materials and sizes as accurately as we can. Colors vary between screens, and hand-finished goods (forged blades, terracotta, natural fibers) vary from piece to piece; this is part of their character, not a defect. Blades are sharp: they are sold only to adults and must be used and stored with care.

4. Returns

Returns and refunds are covered by our Refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be excluded.

5. Intellectual property

The OVID name, logo, text, drawings and our photographs belong to OVID. Paintings shown on the Site are public-domain works and are credited on our About page.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. We are not liable for injury caused by misuse of blades or tools.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes go to the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live.
